Room Butler

Terms of service

The agreement between The Waiter Button and a hotel using Room Butler.

Last updated 8 September 2026

Draft pending legal review. It describes how the service actually operates today.

What the service is

Room Butler provides digital ordering and guest messaging for a hotel or resort. Guests scan a QR code, read the menu in their own language, and place an order. Staff work those orders from a queue.

Trial

Every account starts with a 30-day trial. No card is required and there is nothing to cancel — if you do nothing, ordering simply stops at the end of it and your data stays where it is.

Subscription and payment

Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are per property, and each plan covers one property with a limit on service locations. Moving between plans takes effect immediately.

If a subscription lapses, guest ordering stops. Nothing is deleted: your menu, rooms, codes and history remain, and subscribing again turns ordering back on.

Your responsibilities

  • The menu, its prices, and its allergen information are yours. We display what you enter, and you are responsible for it being accurate.
  • You are responsible for the conduct of the staff accounts you create.
  • You will not use the service to send unsolicited messages to guests.

Machine translation

Where translation is enabled, menu text is translated automatically. Translations are a convenience and not a certified translation. Allergen and dietary information should be reviewed by somebody who reads the language before a property relies on it.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times and do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Ordering also depends on the hotel's own network and on the guest's device.

Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid in that period.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time from the billing screen. We may suspend an account for non-payment or for use that breaks these terms.
